A poetic tale of dance
Fairies never say, ‘We feel happy’, what they say is, ‘We feel dancey.’ I’m sure you’ve noticed that it means almost the same thing. Happiness goes very easily to your feet. Peter Pan and Wendy (1904) – James Matthew Barrie
L’envol tells the story through dance of three characters evolving in a world where the wand has become the primary resource, driving all action: it gives direction, nourishes thoughts, builds bodies, organises space, and rumour has it that it can even predict the future! What happens when the resource runs out and you find yourself alone in the driver’s seat, making your own decisions?
An ode to lightness, L’envol invites you to travel to the edge of fantastic lands and set your imagination in motion. Freely inspired by J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan and Wendy, it’s about listening, empathy, taking risks, saying yes and saying no, and projecting ourselves, young and old, into a world that moves faster than the speed of light.
